Hi. To all writers wishing to write for an episode at Emergency Theater Live®.. Chipping in scenes to a current episode is easy. :) 1. Make sure what you write fits what's happened/happening in the story so far that's already been written by those writers who've submitted before you and make sure to further the episode from that point in some way. The current story in production is.. (As Yet Untitled- MOVIE ONE) - Season Seven http://www.voyagerliveaction.com/pending.html (if it's the beginning of the month) LINK BELOW PENDING... http://www.voyagerliveaction.com/currentepisode/movie1.html . (if it's in the middle or near the end of a month ) This second viewing link is located behind the TV set gif on the Emergency Theater Live Homepage. User ID efan Password frontrowseat 2. Easy guidelines. If you've seen it on Emergency!, it's allowed to then write about it. In other words, canon style (true characters and settings and background faithful to the series. New characters can be victims, witnesses, etc.) If you need help with character info, the files section at Yahoo Groups can aid you immensely. Also, don't let the technical aspects of emergency medical jargon and know how bother you. Also at Yahoo Groups is a list of those people who offer to be consultants for that and about firefighting from a host of readers in the EMS/firefighting field. There's also a file to an Emergency! Dictionary of common terms of medical talk that was used on the show here. 3. Make sure that you've read the latest entry to the episode before posting your scene add on's to the story. Sometimes people send in bits at the same time. ETL hosts will honor the first post into YahooGroups as the official one if cross sending occurs between multiple writers concerning the same scene. The best way to be SURE of the latest submitted to the current episode is to visit Yahoo Groups and look at the latest message arrived there. Most email inboxes have a recipient delay from time to time. There will be minor editting such as spelling error corrections and censoring of swear words and explicatives. *wink* We've young readers now on the list. (A school is watching and reading along with us, learning about community services like fire houses and ambulances and things this month through the feel of our Emergency! stories.) Feel free to add pictures to your emails to the production list so our readers can get their dose of eye candy before the editors use them and add more to the final book and music version of the episode in the vault. Any music you'd like to send for use with your writing, please send as midi files. ( .mid or .midi ) which is a small sized kind of file our servers desire so we can continuously play them for visiting readers without straining bandwidth restrictions. 4. No main role death. Heh. :) At least, not for long. It has been done, to kill off a supporting role. Chief McConnikee was off'd in Episode Six, The Golden Horn. This kind of death's allowed because each ETL episode is generally accepted by writers in an unwritten rule to be stand alones. So his death in Six isn't kept outside THAT story. Each new episode starts as a clean slate with the world of the series to draw upon as fodder, from square one, each month. 5. No made up characters not seen on the show. ( except for victims and necessary fire fighter and hospital others needed so our familiar characters can have help with working numbers to aid their "functioning" as career folk doing their jobs. ) This includes Roy's daughter not ever having a specified name. It was never mentioned on the show and so that must remain that way to uphold the agency's desire for all ETL episodes to be one hundred percent canon to the series. http://www.voyagerliveaction.com/rolespage.html Main character gallery. Whoever writes a scene has the spotlight and no one's story vein takes precedence over anyone elses. So, the more you write, the more your color of orchestrating these beloved characters, will show. You can flow the characters through the scene in progress and then take them where you would like them to go. Other writers will ultimately go where you "aren't" planning because we are all different people. ETL is a place for writing in role play, where each writer is the director for the moment. What happens, goes, and it is accepted that following contributors take what happens as the "bible" and then pretzels those ideas into new ones, and so on. Please, only send writing for the CURRENT episode in progress. This will be the one story in progress delivered to your inbox in the single autosent file that goes out from this list every two weeks and when you were first subscription approved by the moderators. It's entitled, "Emergency Theater Tale In One File", a purely text email. ****Important- Cut and paste link below into your browser address bar if the link is highlight broken, and it will then work**** You will need your Yahoo Email User ID and your Yahoo Email Password in order to access this file below. There are seven agency writers from Voyagerliveaction writing here with you and it is policy inside this organization to lock any contributed writing into concrete once laid down. Have fun with the scenes, for it is a neverending fascinating thing to see where they all end up by month's end. All are invited to write with us, fan author or firefighter, shaping the vision we've all collectively begun here. It is a wonderful beginning. Just let the story weave itself.
